In the end, Mounika Jaggala and Runjhun Rohilla bagged the first prize whereas Ishita Kukreti was given the second position. Among many others, the competition spoke about remarkable women such as Rosie the Riveter, Durgabai Deshmukh, Indira Gandhi, Shurpnakha and Amal Clooney. The questions pointed out the contributions of Mata Hari, a spy during the second world war and showed that there were five women running for the Presidential elections of 2020 in the U.S- which has not happened before.

Through the questions and hints, the participants learnt about Shakuntala Devis’ book on homosexuality as well as realised that many Bollywood writers were inspired by Barkha Dutt while creating the character of the female journalist. The quiz was based on women who pioneers in various fields, and consisted of a variety of questions- ranging from fill in the blanks to put the funda.

The top 4 teams made it to the final round which followed the ‘bounce and pounce’ format.

The qualifier round had questions surrounding women in academia, organisations working for the empowerment or welfare of women, popular movements in social media and famous women in various professions. On the second day of Nexus, NSS LSR in collaboration with the Quiz society organised a quiz, Hidden Figures, to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of women in different walks of life, which are unrecognised in the popular narrative. Hidden Figures explores the biographies of three African-American women who worked as computers to solve problems for engineers and others at NASA.
